In view of the possibility of him hiding in western UP and fleeing abroad through Nepal, a team has also camped on the border of Maharajganj district.

The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Gautam Buddha Nagar had sought clarification from the Jail Superintendent of Banda District Jail in the matter of release of scrap mafia Ravi Kana from Banda Jail on Thursday despite the B-warrant. The incident is related to a case registered in 2026. In this, a case has been registered against the accused Ravindra Singh alias Ravi Nagar alias Ravi Kana under three sections. It is not known where Ravi went after coming out of jail.
Movable and immovable property worth Rs 92.65 crore seized and attached
The court has issued a non-bailable warrant against him. The police are also keeping an eye on Ravi's close friends and old gang members. Police officials are claiming to arrest the accused soon. Gautam Budh Nagar Commissionerate Police has taken the biggest and strictest action so far against mafia and organized gang leader Ravi. Ravi's movable and immovable property worth Rs 92.65 crore has been seized and attached.
Illegal scrap and rebar business
According to the police, Ravi is the leader of an organized criminal gang, whose gang number is D-190. There are 18 members in this gang. Serious criminal cases are registered against Ravi and his gang in many districts of NCR including Gautam Buddha Nagar.
Investigation revealed that the gang was involved in illegal business of scrap and rebar. The gang members used to intimidate businessmen and commit crimes like theft and robbery. A huge amount of property was illegally acquired through these crimes, which was registered anonymously in the name of Ravi Kana, his family members and associates.
Many companies in the name of the kingpin
Companies like M/s Prime Pressing Tools, New Krishna Steel, Escon Export, Hanumat Metal, Akira States and JSR Road Lines are registered in the name of Ravi Kana and his relatives. The attached properties include dozens of commercial vehicles, money deposited in bank accounts, industrial plots and land.
About 18 thousand square meters of land in Secunderabad, Bulandshahr, plots in the industrial area in Surajpur, Greater Noida, and many vehicles have been seized by the police. There are 29 cases registered against Ravi in different police stations under murder, robbery, fraud, Gangster Act, extortion and other serious sections. There are 131 cases registered against 18 members of the gang.
Had absconded abroad without submitting passport
According to police records, Ravi violated the court conditions while taking anticipatory bail in a case. He had absconded abroad on January 1, 2024 after not submitting his passport. Red corner notice was issued against him. On 24 April 2024, he was arrested from Delhi Airport and sent to jail. The police have clearly said that such action against the mafia and organized criminals will continue in future also.
It is wrong to release the accused without order
Legal experts say that any warrant given by the court under BNSS remains effective till then. Unless it is canceled or disposed of by the court. The jail administration has no right to consider the warrant ineffective. It is illegal to release the accused after his production without a clear order from the court.
Gangster and serious criminal cases registered
According to Uttar Pradesh Jail Manual, release of any prisoner is possible only on written court order. Delay or silence in the order cannot be a ground for release. The accused about whom mention has been made. Gangster and serious criminal cases are registered against him. The jail administration was aware of this.
