The Tourism Secretary said that it has been agreed to organize both these events together. However, currently discussions are going on to organize the event in the second week of February.
Tourism Secretary Dheeraj Garbyal held a meeting with officials of Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN), Tourism Department and Winter Games Association in the capital Dehradun regarding the organization of National Winter Games in Auli. In the meeting, it was decided to organize Auli Carnival along with National Winter Games in Auli.
After discussion in the meeting, it was decided that this event will be organized in the second week of February. Its date will also be announced soon.
Winter Games Association President Harshamani Vyas, Secretary Rakesh Ranjan and Ski Coach Ajay Bhatt, who attended the meeting, suggested that the National Games should be organized in the second week of February, because ski teams from different states of the country participate in this game. Therefore, information has to be given to the state federations on time.
It was decided that tourists from India and abroad will also be attracted through Auli Carnival. GMVN and tourism officials said that the department is fully prepared for the Auli Carnival. Also, there is enough snow in Nanda Devi Ski Slope for the National Games. Tourism Secretary said that the organization of Auli Carnival and National Skiing Championship will be given a grand look.
He asked the officials to start preparations for the event. It was told that soon a meeting will be held in Auli regarding preparations. On this occasion, GM of GMVN, Ropeway Manager Deepak Dimri, Chief Ski Instructor of Garhwal Division Kamal Kishore Dimri were present online.
