For this, strong security arrangements have been made for the polling booths. Today, 43,33,574 voters in 48 civic bodies will elect the government of their city. In this, 9 Municipal Corporation Mayors, 20 Municipal Councils and 19 Nagar Panchayat Presidents will be elected. Along with this, voting will be held for 1,042 ward councilors. Voting has started from 7 am to 5 pm at all 4,304 booths of the civic bodies. A total of 43,33,574 voters will exercise their franchise in this election. Of these, 22,07,203 are male, 21,26,227 female and 144 third gender voters. Voters will decide the fate of 562 candidates contesting for Mayor and President and 5,562 candidates for Ward Councillor. In this way, the fate of a total of 6,124 candidates will be sealed in the ballot box.
