Injured criminal arrested after encounter with Muzaffarnagar police
Jagran correspondent, Muzaffarnagar. New Mandi Kotwali police had an encounter with miscreants late at night. Two miscreants who committed theft from a fertilizer factory and liquor vend were arrested. One of the criminals was injured by a bullet and was admitted to the district hospital for treatment. Cash worth Rs 62 thousand, bike, two pistols, cartridges and theft equipment were recovered from their possession. CO Mandi Raju Kumar Sao said that the police was checking near TS Mann Pulia on Bhopa Road. Then two suspects were seen coming on a bike at high speed from Muzaffarnagar. When the police signaled them to stop, the bike riders started running towards the Rajwaha track. Seeing themselves surrounded after being chased, the miscreants opened fire on the police. While retaliating, the police also opened fire, in which the criminal Ravi son of Subhash got injured by bullet, while his associate Dharmendra alias Monu son of Shailendra was caught during combing. Both the miscreants are residents of village Jat Maheda of Bhopa police station area. Ravi, injured in the encounter, has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. CO Mandi said that both the miscreants are vicious thieves and have committed many incidents of theft in the district.
During interrogation, the miscreants admitted that on December 12, they had committed a theft incident in a fertilizer factory located on Jansath Road, where about Rs 1.5 lakh was stolen from the factory office. Apart from this, in the month of November, an incident of theft was also carried out by uprooting the shutter of a liquor vend situated on Bilaspur Cut. Information about their criminal history is being sought.
