Digital Desk, New Delhi. After the municipal elections in Maharashtra, the tussle for power continues between BJP and Shiv Sena. Actually, after the declaration of the results of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, 29 councilors of Shiv Sena were staying in Hotel Taj Lands End in Bandra. But five days later, on Tuesday evening, he left the hotel.
What were the election results?
There are total 227 seats in BMC. BJP got 89 seats and Shiv Sena got 29 seats. Both the parties together are touching the magical figure of majority. But before Mahayuti could agree on the name of the mayor, Shiv Sena sent its councilors to the hotel. It was argued by Shiv Sena that the councilors were asked to stay in the hotel for the orientation workshop.

Eknath Shinde wants his own mayor?
Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde has earlier indicated that he wants to appoint a mayor from his party. He said that the birth centenary year of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray is starting from January 23. Shiv Sainiks wish that on this occasion there should be a Shiv Sena mayor in BMC.
He reminded that the BMC elections were fought by Shiv Sena and BJP in alliance. In the municipal corporations where Shiv Sena and BJP have jointly contested the elections, only Mahayuti will become the mayor.
Will BMC give way in Delhi?
The solution for the post of BMC Mayor is likely to be in Delhi. In this regard, leaders of BJP and Shinde Sena have reached Delhi on Tuesday. This includes Cultural Minister Ashish Shelar, Mumbai BJP President Amit Satam and Shinde Sena leader Rahul Shewale.
