Due to the drain being built in Bela Road, one has to make efforts to reach the colony. photo awakening
Jagran correspondent, Muzaffarpur. The situation has become worse due to the construction of drain being built by BUDCO in Mithanpura-Bela road. The debris has been removed from the drain and placed on the road. There is complete mud spread due to this.
People are moving with the support of the wall. Debris is scattered outside the shop. The worst situation is outside a bank. Women and children enter the bank holding on to the wall. Because there is garbage scattered outside. As soon as one sets foot, one foot sinks. People are troubled by the bad smell.
A pit has been dug for the construction of a drain in front of Lakshmi Narayan Colony and RK Puram locality and has been abandoned for several days. A cordon has been put up with plastic in front of Lakshmi Narayan Colony, but the situation at the main gate of RK Puram locality is dire. A big pit has been dug here for construction. It is completely open.
Not only this, bars have been installed for casting, but it has been left open. There has not even been a cordon installed at the main gate for security. If someone falls into this drain at night, a major accident can occur. This is the biggest negligence during construction work. Due to similar negligence, a young man riding a bike had died in Zero Mile. Despite this, they are not taking accountability.
Difficulty in going to school, even ambulance will not reach
The situation is that children are also going to school through alternative routes. A road emerges from the colony which joins Mithanpura Road. Children or local residents are using this for commuting. But if someone falls ill at night, there is no facility for ambulance to reach. The situation on the main road itself is so bad that when it gets dark, the road is visible and no debris is visible.
Business ruined, shop closed. Businessman Shibu Kumar said that the situation has been like this for about a month. There is a big pit outside the shop. Customers have stopped coming. Debris is scattered. Somehow, they hold on to the wall, come through the narrow path, open the shop and sit there for the whole day. Sales are not happening. This has created an economic crisis.
There are many shopkeepers who have closed their shops. Locals Neeraj Kumar, Ashutosh and Anupama Kumari said that no care is taken for safety and convenience during the construction work. They are not even informed before digging the pit. So that they can arrange for ration and water. Transportation has become so difficult that we have stopped leaving the house.
Water pipeline damaged, hundreds of houses affected
The biggest evidence of negligence in construction work is that the main pipe supplying drinking water of the Municipal Corporation has been damaged due to digging. Due to this, water supply has been stopped in more than a hundred houses. People are using drinking water from their motors and submersibles. Due to closure of the road, the corporation is not able to send even the tank.
On receiving information that the pipeline was damaged, the City Manager of the Municipal Corporation reached the spot and investigated. He directed to repair and clean it immediately and ensure smooth drinking water supply.
Water being removed from pumping set
Water is being taken out from the drain through the pumping set and thrown into the drain on the other side. The pipe from which water is being drawn is cracked in between. Due to this water started spreading on the road. There is so much mud and debris outside a bank that customers are entering the bank with their noses closed.
