Resident tells about the problem of contaminated water.

Digital Desk, Indore. After the uproar over contaminated drinking water in Indore, complaints of filth in the water being supplied under the Water Conservation Scheme have also come to light in Burhanpur. In Guru Gobind Singh Colony (Ward No. 40-41), around 200 houses have been having smelly water coming from the taps since last week, due to which the risk of diarrhea has increased.

On the complaint of social activist Dheeraj Navani, Municipal Commissioner Sandeep Srivastava on Sunday sent the JMC and Municipal Corporation team for investigation. During inspection, information was found about leakage in the water pipeline near the sewerage line.

For a week, the residents had stopped using dirty water from the water conservation scheme and were using water from the old borewell. He alleged that the water sample was not taken from the same place where the smelly water was coming, but was tested from some other place.

potholes and mud on the roads

JMC, the construction agency of the water conservation scheme, is accused of negligence. Many times the roads were not restored properly after excavation. Now digging is being done again to solve the problems of leakage and pressure, which has created heaps of mud, flowing water and potholes on the roads of areas like Budhwara, Itwara.
