Samvad Sutra, Janakinagar (Purnia). A case of theft of goods worth about Rs 1.5 lakh, including cash of Rs 5,000, has come to light from a furniture shop in Chakamka market of Janakinagar police station area. In this case, Gautam Kumar Jaiswal, a resident of Alamnagar in Madhepura district, has made serious allegations against his father-in-law of conspiring to commit theft. The victim has filed a written application in Chakamka OP pleading for justice.

Gautam Kumar told in the application that he had opened a furniture shop in Chakamka market on June 6 by taking an 11-month agreement from Doli Devi. He was married to Sunil Bhagat's daughter Preeti Bhagat in 2012, and since marriage, his in-laws have been keeping an eye on his property. When his wife did not go to Alamnagar due to family dispute, he started a shop.

Gautam alleges that on December 5, his father-in-law came to the shop and abusing him and locked the shop. Later an attempt was made to organize a Panchayat, but his father-in-law kept taking dates again and again. On December 22, when Gautam passed in front of the shop, he found the shutter locked. On opening the shop, all the goods were found scattered and valuables were missing.

The stolen items included steel cups, fans, gas stoves, mixies, cookers, inverters, gas cylinders, household utensils and Rs 5,000 in cash. The total loss is said to be around Rs 1.50 lakh. Gautam has demanded appropriate legal action from the police. At the same time, Preeti Bhagat and Sunil Bhagat have termed the allegations as false. Chakamka OP in-charge Vivek Kumar has confirmed the investigation into the matter.
