Canara Bank branch located at Collectorate was locked on the orders of DM
Jagran correspondent, Baghpat. Not giving loans to the beneficiaries of CM Yuva Udyami Yojana and PM Suryaghar Bijli Yojana proved costly for two banks. DM Asmita Lal evicted the officers and employees of the Canara Bank branch and got it locked.
The team that reached to lock the Punjab National Bank branch returned after getting assurance and giving a warning. This action created panic among the bank officials. Let us tell you that even five months ago, DM had got the same branch of Canara Bank locked. CM Yuva Udyami Yojana and PM Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme are among the ambitious schemes of the government.
Now only the month of March is left for the end of the current financial year but Baghpat is miles behind in achieving the targets of both the schemes. On Thursday, DM Asmita Lal reviewed the progress of the schemes in the Collectorate and took very seriously the cases of banks keeping applications pending instead of giving loans.
The DM sent a team of officers in the afternoon and got the staff taken out of the Canara Bank branch located at the Collectorate and got it locked. Due to this, the bank staff sat on a chair outside the branch. However, after getting assurance from the bank officials to speed up the loan disbursement, the lock of the bank branch was opened after 15-20 minutes.
At the same time, the administration team reached the Baghpat branch of Punjab National Bank to lock it. But she returned with a warning after the bank officials gave concrete assurance of resolving the pending loan cases. The DM's action has created panic among bank officials, because hundreds of applications for both the schemes are pending in the banks.
Actually, due to the progress of both the schemes not being very good, the rank of CM dashboard of the district keeps falling, hence the focus of the administration is more on these. Know the status of the progress of the schemes.
Under CM Yuva Udyami Yojana, the target is to provide interest-free loan of Rs 5 lakh each to 1500 youth of Baghpat for self-employment in the current financial year. But till now 812 youth have received loans of Rs 2.58 crore from banks. More than 50 cases are pending in banks.
PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana aims to install solar panels on the roofs of houses of 1881 persons. Till now, loans of only 718 applicants have been approved. Of these, 165 people have not received loans. Energy Corporation will buy the electricity that will be saved from being spent in the house by installing solar panels on the roofs of the houses under PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme. Meters are installed for this.
