Jagran correspondent, Jaipur. Now the police and administration have started taking strict action regarding the stone pelting by Muslims on policemen while removing encroachment near the mosque in Chaumu of Jaipur district in Rajasthan.

The police have pasted notices on the houses of 24 such stone pelters asking them to remove the illegal encroachment. The encroachers have also been asked to respond to the notice within three days. The city council will run bulldozers on encroachments.

Jaipur Special Police Commissioner Rahul Prakash said that those who pelted stones at policemen were being identified. So far 19 people have been arrested.

Municipal Council's Assistant Accounts Officer Sunil Kumar Swami said that on December 29, notices had been given regarding 20 illegal slaughter houses and four illegal constructions. The three-day notice period ended on Thursday. Now if the encroachers remove it themselves then it is fine, otherwise they will be removed by using bulldozers.

Many policemen were injured in stone pelting

It is known that on December 26, an agreement was reached between the Muslim community, police and administration officials to remove the encroachment near the mosque located in the main market of Chaumu.

The encroachment was removed but on the same day and night, some people of the Muslim community once again started illegally building a wall near the mosque and installing iron railings. When policemen stopped this work, stones were pelted. Many policemen were injured in stone pelting.
