Jagran correspondent, Darbhanga. In view of the severe cold in Darbhanga district of Bihar, on the orders of the District Magistrate, the District Education Officer has ordered closure of studies in primary and middle schools till 22nd December.

The District Education Officer said that due to the adverse effect of increasing cold on the health of children and from the point of view of their safety, teaching and learning work from classes 1 to 8 in government and private schools was postponed.

The DEO issued an order on Friday night on the instructions of the DM that teaching and learning will not take place in primary and middle schools till December 22. But teachers will reach school at their scheduled time. Let us tell you that the district has been experiencing severe cold for the last two-three days.

One cannot even see the sun during the day. In such a situation, normal life has been affected due to cold. Children were facing a lot of difficulty in coming to school and studying.

The sun remained behind the clouds, the west wind increased the shivering.

Darbhanga: There was already a feeling that fog would fall and cold would increase, but the experience of a day earlier on Thursday was telling that despite the dense fog, the Sun God had been seen, albeit late.

But today's experience was completely opposite. When people got out of bed in the morning, there was a thick cloud cover in the sky. There was no sign of fog anywhere. Westerly wind was blowing. It was causing shivers.

No one expected such cold in a cloudy sky. In the last five years, no one had anticipated the mercury falling to 10 and 11 degrees in the middle of December.

Everyone was of the same opinion that Kosamba would take place and the sun would rise sooner or later. But the whole day the clouds covered the sky in such a way that it became rare to see the sun.

Designer jackets become the choice of youth

As the cold increased, the shops selling warm clothes in the market were flooded with customers. The faces of shopkeepers dressed in warm clothes also lit up. They had not expected that it would be cold this time. That is why no one had ordered the new product after the initial stock.

Women were buying sweaters, socks and caps for their children. But a group of youths were moving from one shop to another in search of airproof jackets, leaving their sweaters behind. Rahm Gaj's young man Mohd. Mokhtar said that we travel on motorcycles, hence sweaters do not work.

Searching for a designer jacket on the chest and arms but not finding it anywhere. Same type of jackets are being sold everywhere. The price is also not less than Rs. 1.5 thousand.
