Digital Desk, Patna. RJD supremo Lalu Prasad's elder son and Janashakti Janata Dal (JJD) national president Tej Pratap Yadav has welcomed the UGC's 'Promotion of Equity in Higher Educational Institutions Regulations 2026' law.

He said that under the rules, an equity committee will be formed in every university and college, which will listen to the complaints of SC, ST and OBC students and ensure their settlement within the stipulated time.

Tej Pratap wrote- 'This law will provide equality to the students studying in universities and colleges and will further strengthen the rights given in the Constitution.'

He wrote that Janashakti Janata Dal and his party support this historic step, as it is in the interest of students from Dalit, tribal and backward communities.

At the same time, Tej Pratap also slammed those people who are linking this law with Sanatan tradition, he said that perhaps those ignorant people do not know that Dalits, tribals and backward communities also come under Sanatan and they are our brothers and sisters.
