The temperature remains in minus at night, due to which the water freezes and takes the form of ice. The supply is being disrupted in the morning due to blockage of drinking water lines.
Its effect was clearly visible in Jadi village of the area, the water flowing from the drinking water line located here turned into ice during the night. Local residents Jaipal Singh, Raghuveer Singh, Sultan Singh, Major Singh, Balbir Singh, Narendra Singh, Mehar Singh, Kesar Singh etc. say that there is no respite from the dry cold in the area.
Life is badly affected due to cold wind and frost. If there was timely rain or snowfall, there could be relief from the dry cold. Horticulture and other crops would also benefit from snowfall. Melting of snow creates the possibility of recharging drinking water sources. The severe cold is having the biggest impact on cattle herders and farmers, who are facing difficulties in getting fodder and leaves. People in the higher reaches of Chakrata are expecting rain or snowfall.
