Under this, sugarcane producing farmers will have to do co-cropping of urad and moong dal. For this, free seeds will be provided to the farmers. A target has been declared to increase the area of ​​pulses urad and moong dal in the year 2026.

To increase the income of sugarcane farmers of the district, free mini kits will be given for cultivating urad and moong. In the Zaid season, farmers pay more attention to maize, in such a situation, those farmers want to cultivate urad and moong. For them, mini kits will be available in the Agriculture Department on first come, first served basis.

According to the District Agriculture Officer, last year the area under urad in the district was 6400 hectares, but the target for the year 2026 has been increased to 333 hectares. Whereas the area of ​​moong was 254 hectares last year, it will be increased to 429 hectares.

A large number of farmers in the district cultivate sugarcane, so to encourage the farmers and increase their income, they will be given free mini kits for urad and moong crops. Farmers will be able to avail the benefits of this scheme at all the government seed stores in their area, but this time the farmers will have to register first. Only after this the seeds will be made available.

Farmers will get seed through online lottery and will have to register themselves on Krishi Darshan-2 portal. On the basis of the application, the Agriculture Department will start providing seeds from development block level seed stores to the farmers selected through online lottery. The portal for its registration has been activated in the district.

Free urad and moong dal seeds will be provided to the sugarcane farmers of the district. The target is to increase the area of ​​urad and moong dal by 762 hectares more. Farmers can avail the benefits of the scheme by registering themselves. - Pradeep Kumar, District Agriculture Officer
