Samvad Sutra, Munsiyari. The thrill of snow skiing continued for the second consecutive day at Khaliya Top, situated at an altitude of 3500 meters above sea level. Due to adequate availability of snow in the area, the conditions are completely favorable for skiing, due to which there is a lot of enthusiasm among the local youth and tourists.
Local youth participated in the training session organized on the second day and learned the nuances of snow skiing. Under the guidance of instructors, the youth practiced balancing, speed control and ski techniques on the snow. The youth say that such training is not only providing an opportunity to get involved in adventure sports, but can also open up possibilities of employment and self-employment in the future.
On Friday, tourists from different areas of Uttarakhand also enjoyed snow skiing at Khalia Top. Many tourists experienced snow skiing for the first time and described the adventure as memorable. Monal Sanstha President Surendra Pawar said that on Sunday, a group of about 25 tourists from Bengaluru and Maharashtra will reach Khalia Top for snow skiing, for which all necessary preparations are being made.
Local people say that winter tourism is getting a new impetus due to the continuous snow skiing activities happening in Khaliya Top. It is also expected to benefit hotels, guides, porters and other local businesses. With the increase in the number of tourists in the coming days, the area is expected to become more vibrant.
