Jagran correspondent, Moradabad. Five policemen of the surveillance team have put Khaki to shame. Five policemen of the surveillance cell operated from the SSP office attacked a medical store in the Kotwali area in a planned manner. The medical store operator started raiding the medical store by calling the flying squad team and the drug department team.
Before the operator could understand anything, he was accused of selling banned drugs and taken into custody. Asked for one lakh rupees in return for teasing. Somehow the operator arranged for Rs 40 thousand and gave it to the policemen, then he was freed from the clutches. After this the story came to light.
During the investigation by CO Katghar Varun Kumar, the story became clear as glass. On their investigation report, SSP Satpal Antil suspended surveillance in-charge Veer Bose, constable Shivam Chikara, Vipin Sharma, Yash Dahiya, Manoj Yadav. A departmental inquiry has also been instituted against the five.
Uvaid Qureshi, resident of Feelkhana Reti Street of Kotwali area, has a medical store in the locality. According to Uwaid's advocate brother Jamshed Qureshi, the surveillance team reached the medical store about a month ago. The team, posing as flying squad team and drug department, started raiding medical stores.
During the raid, the brother was accused of sending banned medicines and he was taken into custody. When the brother protested, the policemen vandalized the medical store and broke the CCTV cameras installed there and uprooted the DVR. Took the brother into custody and went away.
In the name of releasing him, they started demanding Rs 1 lakh. Later the team released the brother with Rs 40 thousand. When Uwaid narrated the incident, he too was stunned. Appeared before SSP regarding brother and complained about the matter. SSP handed over the investigation to CO Katghar Varun Kumar.
The CO checked the CCTV footage installed near the shop in which five policemen were seen taking Uvaid along. All five were called and their statements were recorded. When the series of questions started, all five including the in-charge became speechless. Since the footage was available, they could not even deny the incident.
After this the CO submitted the investigation report to the SSP. After which action was taken against the five policemen. Let us tell you that there are a total of nine policemen in the surveillance team, many of whom were deployed for a long time. Preparations are on to show the rest the way out.
On the complaint of the case, investigation was handed over to CO Katghar. Based on their investigation report, five policemen including the surveillance in-charge have been suspended. A departmental inquiry has also been set up. Policemen who do this will not be spared.
