Jagran correspondent, Sahibabad. Police has exposed the robbery worth lakhs from a wholesale businessman in Khoda police station area. This robbery was committed by the grandson of the victim along with his associates. The accused grandson had committed the robbery to repay a loan of Rs 50 thousand. The police have arrested the accused grandson and his accomplice robber. Police have recovered the looted Rs 75 thousand, the iPhone purchased with the looted money and the bike used in the incident from the accused. Police say that two associates of the accused involved in the incident are still absconding, they will also be arrested soon.
absconding after committing the crime
ACP Indirapuram Abhishek Srivastava said that on January 10, an incident of robbery took place in Khoda police station area against Gajak wholesale businessman Rajeev Gupta and his wife. Four miscreants riding two bikes had looted a bag full of cash from him while he was going home after closing his shop. The accused had knocked down his scooter by hitting it with their bike and fled away after committing the crime.
CCTV camera footage scrutinized
On the basis of the complaint given by the victim, the police had registered a case against unknown robbers at Khoda police station. The police had formed teams to trace the robbers. ACP said that the police team scanned the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the entire area and with the help of surveillance, arrested two accused. The arrested accused include Deepanshu and Yash Gupta. Both the accused are residents of Khoda police station area.
Conspired to rob grandfather
Accused Yash Gupta is the grandson of victim Gajak businessman Rajeev Gupta. According to the ACP, during interrogation the accused Yash Gupta told that he had left studies three years ago due to his hobbies and fun. He had incurred debt while having fun. Yash told that he had borrowed 50 thousand rupees from his friend Deepanshu, for which Deepanshu was pressurizing him to return. To return Dipanshu's money, he had conspired to rob his maternal grandfather.
Deepanshu had called for robbery
ACP Indirapuram Abhishek Srivastava says that after conspiring with Yash Gupta to rob his maternal grandfather, Deepanshu had involved his cousin Lucky and a friend Anshu Pandit in the incident. As part of the conspiracy, on January 10, when Rajiv Gupta was returning home after closing his shop, they looted a bag full of notes from his hand.
Dipanshu told that at the time of the incident, Yash Gupta was riding a bike wearing a helmet, while Anshu, who was sitting behind on the bike, had snatched the bag from Rajeev Gupta. The four accused had divided the money found in the bag among themselves.
Dipanshu told that he had bought the iPhone with the money that came from his share. Police have recovered this phone from Dipanshu. Police say that the accused were going to Delhi for fun, during which they were caught.
