Police taking away the accused arrested in the encounter
Jagran correspondent, Firozabad. Sirsaganj police arrested two accused of stealing a bike from the town on December 2 in an encounter late Thursday night. Both of them were shot in the legs in police retaliatory firing. The injured miscreants were admitted to the hospital. A stolen bike and two pistols have been recovered from their possession.
SO Vaibhav Kumar Singh said that the bike of Sanjay Kumar, resident of Araon Road, was stolen from the town market on December 2. An FIR was lodged against unknown persons in the case.
Late night, information was received that the miscreants who committed this crime were roaming in the area around Pengu Road on a stolen bike with the aim of carrying out some incident. After this the police team started checking vehicles on Pengu Road. Meanwhile, when the police signaled three youths who came on a bike to stop, they started firing from their pistols and tried to run away.
Due to the high speed, the bike became unbalanced and fell. In police retaliation, two youths riding a bike were shot in their legs. One of his companions managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness. The injured were identified as Vicky alias Vikram, resident of Nat Wali Gali, Himayunpur South and Brijmohan, Himayunpur. Vicky is a gangster on the police station line.
