Six-seven vehicles collided one after the other on the Kanpur-Prayagraj highway near Saunra village in the industrial area of Malwan police station at 7 am on Saturday morning. Due to which the truck driver and car rider, 17 year old S Gautam, resident of Muradganj police station, Ajitmal district, Oraiya, have died. Due to his mother's condition being critical, she has been referred to Kanpur.
11 people including an advocate were injured. The police, which reached the information, sent the injured to the district hospital in an ambulance and towed the damaged vehicles to the side using a crane and hydra. Meanwhile, the traffic on Prayagraj Lane was disrupted for half an hour. However, vehicular movement continued through the service lane due to which there was no jam.
An Artika car collided in the fog behind a roadways bus going towards Prayagraj on the highway in the morning. The truck driver coming from Kanpur stopped the vehicle after seeing the accident, due to which the DCM behind the truck and two cars behind the DCM collided. Due to which the car rider collided with the DCM, Advocate Mohd. Javed, Naved and Zakir, residents of Civil Line, Aligarh, were injured while two people traveling in the car that collided with the back of the bus were sent to the hospital by the police. The truck driver also got injured.
SO Rajkishore said that the vehicles collided due to fog, in which one person in the car died and got minor injuries. The jam could not be prevented as the police reached the spot immediately.
