Digital Desk, Lucknow: Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2027, the Yogi Adityanath government presented its tenth budget in the Assembly on Wednesday. Regarding the budget presented on the third day of the budget session, the government claims that with this budget, the government will make the people of the state happy and will also give more impetus to the all-round development of the state to make Uttar Pradesh self-reliant.
Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna presented the tenth budget of the Yogi government in the House on Wednesday. This budget for the financial year 2026-27 is the last full budget of the second term of Government 2.0, as assembly elections are proposed in Uttar Pradesh next year. A provision of about Rs 32 thousand crore has been made for Panchayati Raj schemes, which is 67 percent more than last year.
Panchayat elections are also possible in Uttar Pradesh this year. In the budget speech, it was announced to provide employment to ten lakh youth in UP and increase the amount of assistance given for the marriage of girls to Rs 1 lakh. The budget size has been kept at Rs 9 lakh 12 thousand crores. A provision of Rs 400 crore has also been made for scooters for girl students. In his speech, the Finance Minister presented the resolution of the budget objective in these lines - "Let me light a lamp where there is darkness." Many announcements have been made in this budget for youth and women. The budget is focused on people's aspirations, development work and everyone's prosperity. The Finance Minister said that this budget will give new energy towards self-reliant and developed Uttar Pradesh.
Uttar Pradesh Government Finance Minister Surekh Kumar Khanna presented the Uttar Pradesh Budget 2026–27 of Rs 9 lakh, 12 thousand, 696 crore 35 lakh. There has been an increase of 12.9 percent in the total budget of ₹ 9.12 lakh crore. Capital expenditure in this is 19.5 percent. Keeping the agenda of public aspirations, good governance and inclusive development at the center, the government has focused on youth, women, farmers and employment generation with the budget of more than Rs 9.12 lakh crore. The budget size has been increased by more than Rs 1 lakh crore from the original budget of Rs 8.08 lakh crore for the current financial year 2025-26. To speed up the development works, a provision of up to Rs 2.50 lakh crore has been made in the budget for capital expenditure. The Finance Minister said in the House that the budget has been prepared keeping in mind the expectations of the public, commitment to development and good governance. The budget will be a reflection of the development thinking and strong political will of the double engine government. This budget will further strengthen the trust that the state has gained in law and order, investment and infrastructure under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He also clearly said that the budget will give a concrete answer to those who raise questions on the development of the state. Today the state is among the leading states of the country in terms of investment, infrastructure and employment and this budget will further accelerate this journey. Khanna said that the budget prepared with financial discipline will prove to be a decisive step towards self-reliant Uttar Pradesh. In the proposed budget, priority has been given to agriculture, education, health, infrastructure, industrial investment, employment generation along with women and youth empowerment. Through the budget, special attention will be given to the balanced development of Purvanchal, Bundelkhand and other backward areas so that the flow of development reaches every part of the state. It is believed that through this huge budget to be presented before the assembly elections, the Yogi government will try to ensure its hat-trick by pleasing the people of the state. In the year 2017, Yogi government presented its first budget of Rs 3.85 lakh crore.
