Chief Minister Urban Expansion Scheme
State Bureau, Jagran, Lucknow: The work being done under the Chief Minister Urban Expansion Scheme will now accelerate. The state government has now given the development authority the right to change the land use of the land included in the scheme from agricultural to residential. Till now, as the government had the authority, it took time to change land use, due to which as the value of land increased, it took much more time to complete the scheme. In the mandate issued by P. Guruprasad, Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Planning, to the Vice-Chairmen of the Development Authorities, it is clearly stated that the land use of the developers who have obtained license for the project on more than 50 acres of land under the Uttar Pradesh Township Policy-2023, is being done through the Authority Board only, whereas the government has the right to change the land use for the urban expansion plan.
In such a situation, the state government has now given the right to change the land use of the scheme land to the Development Authority Board. It is believed that due to this, the work will be expedited and the project will be completed on time. It is noteworthy that under the scheme, the government is providing huge amount of money as seed capital to 20 cities including Lucknow.
