Virat Kohli broke the record of Australian legend

Sports Desk, New Delhi. Virat Kohli, who is counted among the great batsmen of current times, is currently playing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Playing from Delhi, Virat played a brilliant inning of 77 runs against Gujarat on Friday. With this innings, Kohli has made the decades-old record of Australia's legendary batsman Michael Bevan in his name.

BCCI has made it clear that Team India players will have to play domestic cricket. In such a situation, not only Virat but Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant are also playing Vijay Hazare Trophy. Pant is captaining Delhi and Kohli is playing under his leadership.

Recorded this in my name

After this inning, Kohli's List-A average has become 57.87. He has left Michael Bevan behind and holds the record of highest average (at least 5000 runs) in List-A. Bevan's record in List-A is 57.86. Bevan had said goodbye to cricket in the year 2007. Even after this no one could break his record. However, after almost two decades, this record has been broken by Kohli's bat.

Kohli is generally compared with Sachin Tendulkar. The reason for this is Kohli's run-scoring speed. His recent records have shown that Kohli is one of the most brilliant batsmen in world cricket. Kohli played an innings of 77 runs on 61 balls against Gujarat at the BCCI Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. Earlier, he had scored a brilliant century against Andhra Pradesh. In that match, Kohli scored 131 runs in 101 balls with the help of 14 fours and three sixes.

Now we play only ODI

In the year 2024, when India won the T20 World Cup under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. Soon after this, Kohli had announced his retirement from T20 cricket. In May this year, Kohli also said goodbye to Test. Now he plays only ODIs. Recently, in the ODI series played against South Africa, Kohli had scored two consecutive centuries with his bat.
