Weather Update: Fog Continues To Wreak Havoc In Haridwar, Vehicles Seen Crawling On The Roads; Some Relief From The Lukewarm Sun

Jagran correspondent, Haridwar. Dharmanagari remained under dense fog on Tuesday morning. Vehicles were seen crawling on the highways and link roads. There was some respite from the cold due to sunshine in the afternoon. According to the information received from the Solar Observatory located in Bahadarabad, the maximum and minimum temperatures on Tuesday were recorded at 16.5 and 06 degrees Celsius respectively.

The entire North India is in the grip of severe cold and fog these days. In Dharmanagari too, the severe cold and fog that had been occurring for the last few days had increased the problems. People were longing to see the Sun God. However, people felt quite relieved due to sunshine on Monday.

Even on Tuesday morning, there was dense fog in Dharmanagari and surrounding areas. Vehicles were seen crawling on the highways and link roads. Even during the day, drivers were seen going to their destinations with headlights on. However, Suryadev appeared in the afternoon. People enjoyed the lukewarm sunshine.

As the day progressed, the cold winds continued to increase the problems. People were seen warming themselves by bonfires to get relief from the cold. People were also seen beating the cold with heaters and blowers. According to the information received from the solar observatory located in Bahadarabad, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 16.5 and 06 degrees Celsius respectively on Tuesday. Municipal Commissioner inspected the night shelters.

In view of the severe cold, the Municipal Corporation Administration has made arrangements for bonfires at 40 places in the city. Bonfires are also being lit outside night shelters. Also, proper arrangements have been made for blankets etc.

Municipal Commissioner Nandan Kumar inspected the night shelters and tested the arrangements. Gave necessary directions to the concerned officials. In compliance with which 150 blankets were arranged. Those who have been sent to night shelters. At present, the facility of warm blankets and heaters has been made available in night shelters.

The Municipal Commissioner said that three night shelters are being operated in the Municipal Corporation area. Bonfires are being lit at more than 40 places in the city. Mayor Kiran Jaisal said that blankets will soon be distributed to the needy.
