Greater Noida Akhlaq murder case. Awakening
Jagran correspondent, Greater Noida. On Thursday, the prosecution recorded the statement of Akhlaq's wife Ikraman in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge-5 in Greater Noida.
In the statement, the wife said, the accused, who came in the form of a mob, dragged her husband out of the house and beat him to death. The court has fixed February 25 as the next date for hearing the case.
Ikraman said before the court that on the night of September 28, 2015, a violent incident was carried out by a mob in Bisahada village, and he took the names of several accused. Suddenly people entered her house in the form of a mob and dragged her husband away after beating him.
Told that she was with her mother-in-law Asgari on the ground floor of the house. Husband Akhlaq, son Danish and daughter Shaista were on the first floor. When everyone was preparing to sleep, an announcement was made on the loudspeaker from the religious place located in the village square that a banned animal had been slaughtered near a big transformer.
After some time, people gathered outside his house in a crowd and kept abusing him. The mob broke the door of the house and entered inside. 15-20 people jumped from the wall of brother-in-law's house and entered the house.
Told that after hearing the noise, Akhlaq asked what was the matter. By then the accused had started beating Ikraman and mother-in-law present below. Seeing the husband, son and daughter present above, the crowd started climbing the stairs saying, 'These people have slaughtered the cows, we will kill them.'
The accused included Rupendra, Vivek, Sachin, Hariom, Shriom, Gaurav, Saurav, Vishal, Shivam and Sandeep. The accused beat her husband and dragged him out of the house.
The husband was repeatedly saying that he had not done anything and he should not be killed. The attackers left the son Danish thinking him dead. Kerosene oil was sprinkled in the house.

With the help of police, while going to the hospital with daughter Shaista and injured son Danish, some people stopped them on the way.
Advocate of the victim's side, Yusuf Saifi, said that the lawyer of the accused side should be cross-examined in the case, but it was not done. The court has fixed February 25 as the next hearing date of the case.
