Jagran correspondent, Kanpur. Now our Kanpur is going to become more prosperous in the energy sector. As an alternative energy, a large solar power park is going to be built in Katar village of Ghatampur.
NEDA is going to build a 35 MW solar power park in an area of 65 hectares at a cost of Rs 200 crore. The responsibility of building this park has been given to Vedu Infra Company of Noida. This company will start work after a fortnight.
On Thursday, Rakesh Pandey, Project Officer of Alternative Energy-NEDA, reached Katar village of Ghatampur. Where he along with his team inspected the plant site. He said that the time limit for completion of the plant has been fixed at 24 months.
This plant will be ready during this period. The plant will produce 35 MW of energy per hour during its operational period as per its capacity. This energy will be supplied directly to the power grid. PO NEDA said that after the establishment and operation of this plant, many more plants will be set up.
Pre-installed plants at a glance
The power plants built at Panki, Ghatampur and Bilhaur have the capacity to produce 2640 MW electricity. Whereas, the city currently requires 700 MW of electricity. With the commencement of these plants, the electricity problem of the state as well as other states has started to be solved.
