Jagran correspondent, New Delhi. World Book Fair 2026: Those who were often considered to be away from books by calling them the screen generation, on the other hand, Gen-Z Pragati Maidan were seen exploring their future on pages of paper instead of pixels with their fingers. Jane Ji, who often gets criticized for getting lost in the noise of technology and gadgets, was seen diving into the ocean of knowledge at the World Book Fair.

Amidst the digital glow, we were seen exploring the depth of the words in the books. On the second day of the fair, the youth searching for their favorite books said that no matter how much technology has progressed, even today one can find solace only in the knowledge contained in books.

At the same time, seeing the Hindi and Urdu letters floating in the air in the Qatar Pavilion, the youth adept in technology also stopped for a moment and started looking at this magical world. These modern youth were seen engrossed in the knowledge of vanishing traditional games like tug-of-war, Kho-Kho and Aankh-Michauli and the disappearing birds.

In the fair, Jain-ji, along with searching for books, was also seen sitting alone and turning the pages of internet media influencers and the new world of travelogues, love and popular crime sagas and classic literature. On the other hand, the elderly were also seen reliving their childhood by capturing their smiles at the selfie point between the books.

What did the youth say in the conversation?

This union of technology and books is a message for those who used to say that Jain-ji has lost the patience to turn pages in the reel era.

Be it books, digital library or the glory story of Indian Army, everything is present under one roof in the World Book Fair. There is a lot to be learned here about the knowledge, technology and bravery of the army.

Jane may have a mobile phone in her hands but there is still a safe place for books in her heart. We are reading this not only for knowledge but also for mental peace.
