State Bureau, Patna. 10 Circular Road Residence: Now preparations have started for farewell from the bungalow (10, Circular Road) where the Lalu family has lived and witnessed many ups and downs in the politics of Bihar for the last two decades.
Late Thursday night, some goods were delivered from this government bungalow located in the center of Patna to the building located on Arya Samaj Road, which is called the cowshed of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad.
Pots and other small items have been removed from five cargo vehicles. Rabri Devi has already packed her valuables and some of Tejashwi Yadav's belongings have also been shifted to his government bungalow at Polo Road.
Rabri Devi had got bungalow number 10 located on Circular Road in her capacity as former Chief Minister. She was living here with her family since January 16, 2006.
Rabri lived in a house on Ane Marg
Before that, in the capacity of Chief Minister, she used to live in the bungalow behind (One Anne Marg), in which now Chief Minister Nitish Kumar lives. The boundary wall of both the bungalows is the same.
It was Nitish who had arranged for free bungalows etc. for life in Patna for the former Chief Ministers, which was invalidated by the Patna High Court in 2017 itself.
On this basis, Rabri Devi has received a notice to vacate the bungalow. The Building Construction Department had sent this notice on November 25 itself, in which instructions were given to vacate the bungalow within a month.
Goods not going to Harding Road residence
In return, he has been allotted bungalow number 39 of Harding Road in the capacity of Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council. After painting, the bungalow is ready to be welcomed, but the Lalu family was hesitant in going there.
On the other hand, Lalu's own personal building in Mahuabagh of Phulwarisharif is also in the final stages of construction. There has been better connectivity due to roads and overbridges built during Nitish's regime.
Therefore, now the journey from Legislative Assembly and Secretariat to Phulwarisharif has also been reduced to minutes, hence the priority of Lalu family for shifting is to private building.
Tej Pratap and Tejashwi played and grew up here
Not only the Lalu family but also the political identity of RJD has been associated with 10, Circular Road. Tejashwi and Tej Pratap Yadav have reached the minister's chair by playing in this very complex.
For this reason, some RJD leaders were claiming not to vacate this bungalow even at any cost. However, there was no comment in this regard from Lalu family.
Sources are saying that due to the current political circumstances the Lalu family has decided to shift. However, the final shifting will take time.
For this, permission is required from the government, the basis for which is the private residence being under construction along with the illness of Lalu, who is currently resting at the bungalow of MP's daughter Misa Bharti in New Delhi after an eye operation. Tejashwi is also currently touring abroad.
