Jagran correspondent, Nawanagar (Ballia). A shocking incident has come to light in Sikandarpur area, which has created a sensation in the entire area. Satish Verma, a resident of Pandah village, was married to Pooja Verma of Siwankala village on December 2 as per Hindu customs. But just ten days after the marriage, the bride eloped with her lover.
On Thursday, Pooja along with her husband Satish reached Sri Bajrang Post Graduate College located at Dadar Ashram to appear for the examination. Before the exam started, she told her husband to go home and she would take him back after the exam was over.
Satish returned home on her request. But it turned out to be only an excuse. When Satish reached college after the exams were over, Pooja was not present there.
After interrogation it was found that she had not come to take the exam. Rather, as per a pre-planned plan, she eloped with her lover. As soon as this news was received, the husband and relatives were shocked. According to the family, Pooja had left the house carrying a bag. When her sister-in-law asked, she said that there were exam notebooks and books, but later it was found that the bag contained her clothes, important papers and household items.
Relatives allege that Pooja was a second year BA student at Kasturi College, Nawanagar and she was having an affair with a young man from the college. It is also alleged that Pooja has taken with herself gold and silver jewelery worth Rs 2.5 to Rs 3 lakh and Rs 25,000 in cash. Satish's family is in shock.
A complaint has been lodged with the police requesting them to trace his wife. In this regard, Inspector in-charge Sikandarpur Moolchand Chaurasia said that the matter has been taken into cognizance. Necessary action is being taken by registering a missing complaint.
