To strengthen the public distribution system in the district, on the instructions of the government, 225 Annapurna buildings will soon be constructed in rural areas, so that ration card holders will be able to get better, transparent and systematic facilities. After the approval from the government level, the concerned department has started preparing the action plan.
To modernize the public distribution system, Annapurna buildings will be constructed in a phased manner in both rural and urban areas. Facilities like proper arrangement for safe storage of grains, digital weighing scale, computerized distribution system, waiting room, drinking water, toilets and seating arrangements will be available in these buildings.
This will save consumers from long queues and chaos. With the construction of Annapurna Bhawan, there will be transparency in the distribution of food grains and any kind of disturbance or irregularity will be curbed.
Stock and distribution information will be recorded online through a digital monitoring system, so that beneficiaries can get ration on time and in the right quantity. Annapurna buildings will be developed in a modern structure.
Facilities like adequate storage capacity, digital weighing scale, e-pass machine, waiting room, drinking water and toilet will be available here. This will provide relief to consumers from standing in the sun and rain.
Emphasis on transparency and monitoring
CCTV cameras and digital registers will also be provided in the new buildings, so that transparency is maintained in the distribution system. This will stop irregularities and black marketing. The entire process of ration distribution will be under online monitoring.
