Community five-storey residential building will be built at three places in the city
Jagran correspondent, Muzaffarpur. Five-storey community residential buildings will be constructed in three wards of the city. This building will be built for 225 families living in abandoned buildings located in Wards 30, 39 and 40.
A five-storey community residential building to be built at a cost of Rs 23 crore will be constructed in Aghoria Bazaar, Bahalkhana and Gudri Road. The Municipal Corporation has prepared the DPR and sent it to the Urban Development Department for technical approval. The process of construction of all three buildings will start once the approval is received from the government.
Let us tell you that the community residential buildings built at three places, Aghoria Bazaar, Bahalkhana and Gudri Road, were constructed by the government in the year 1997-98 for the economically weaker Dalits. The buildings constructed at all three places are completely dilapidated.
Every day, people living in the buildings were getting injured due to the falling of railings and roofs of these buildings. The Municipal Corporation has inspected these buildings twice and declared them abandoned. Even five years ago, the Municipal Corporation had declared these buildings abandoned and ordered to vacate them.
In the first meeting of the present Municipal Corporation Board held on January 31, 2023, a proposal was passed to construct a new building in place of the abandoned building.
