Jagran correspondent, Padrauna. There is good news for the people of the city. The government has approved the proposal of 26 projects of the municipality. These include 13 roads and 13 drains. About Rs 10 crore will be spent on their construction. This proposal was sent to the government about three months ago.

While approving the projects, the government has given instructions to submit DPR. DPR is being prepared by the municipality. Once funds are allocated, roads and drains will be constructed in the expanded area. This will provide better traffic and drainage facilities in the localities.

Before the civic elections, 31 revenue villages around the city were included by the government in the boundary expansion of Padrauna Municipality. At that time, there was hope among the people here that now we too will get urban facilities. If all kinds of basic facilities apart from better roads, drains, street lighting, pure drinking water are available, there will be a change in the standard of living.

After the formation of Municipal Board, development works also started in the municipal area. As funds are being received from the government, work is being carried out accordingly.

In the last meeting of the board, focus was on the wards of the extended area. The city administration had decided to provide basic facilities here on priority basis. In the same sequence, a proposal of Rs 10 crore was sent to the government for the construction of 13 RCC roads and drains.

Mohan Gupta, Rajkishore Chauhan, Ramesh Rai, Nageshwar, Rajeshwar etc. said that the expected development has not taken place in the wards included in the expanded area. With the construction of roads, better transportation facilities and construction of drains will strengthen the drainage system.

After becoming a part of the city, there was hope that now urban facilities would be available. In the new localities created by merging villages, the condition of roads and drains is not good, due to which one has to face problems. It will be convenient if roads and drains are constructed here.

Providing basic facilities to the citizens of the municipal area is the priority of the Municipal Board. As funds are being received from the government, development works are being carried out accordingly. Approval has been received from the government for the construction of roads and drains in the extended area. DPR of all the projects is being prepared.- Vinay Jaiswal, Municipal President
