Digital Desk, Noida. The voter list revision process of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Noida and Ghaziabad districts of NCR ended on Friday. During this period, about 3.5 lakh voters were marked 'unmapped', which is about 8% of the total voters. Officials said that preparations are underway to issue notices to these voters and provide them with documents for further processing.
Of the total 18.7 lakh voters in Noida, 1.8 lakh (9.8%) have been placed in the unmapped category. Noida's Additional District Electoral Officer Atul Kumar said, "These are the persons whose details or their family members could not be linked to the 2003 voter list."
Whereas in Ghaziabad, out of 28.4 lakh voters, 1.6 lakh (5.6%) are unmapped. District Election Officer Saurabh Bhatt also gave the same reason.
Verification of voter list in the district has been completed under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign. Verification of 28,37,991 voters has been done in five assembly constituencies of the district. Of these, 8,18,362 voters were registered as transferred, absent, deceased and duplicate. According to the report released from the District Election Office, till December 27, 71.17 percent of the digitization work has been completed. Maximum number of names have been cut in Sahibabad and least in Modinagar.
Names of 51,781 voters deleted after SIR survey
SIR work has been completed in the district. A report has been released by the District Election Office on Saturday, in which the names of 8,18,362 voters have been deleted. Among these, the record of maximum number of names being cut has been registered in the name of Sahibabad Assembly. Here, out of a total of more than 10 lakh voters, the names of about four lakh i.e. 38.32 percent voters were deleted. At the same time, the name of Modinagar has been registered in the assembly constituency with the least number of names deleted, in which out of total 3,34,765 voters, names of 51,781 voters have been deleted after the SIR survey.
At the same time, after the special intensive revision (SIR) of 18.65 lakh voters in the three assembly constituencies of Gautam Buddha Nagar, names of 4.48 lakh voters will now be left out of the list. These voters could not be counted amid the process. The administration has categorized them as absent, transferred, dead or duplicate.
The concern of administrative officials has increased due to the locking of SIR data till 12 o'clock on Friday night. The draft of the list will be ready on December 31. The administration has not yet received the forms of 1.84 lakh voters. To search for them, the administration will organize camps at identified places from January 1 and take objections from the people.
The administration had started the work of special intensive review from November 4. Till now only 14 lakh 17 thousand 669 voters have been counted whereas during the process there are 1 lakh 84 thousand 353 such voters whose permanent address or identity has not been found. That means out of total 18.65 lakh voters, 9.8 percent voters could not be counted during the SIR process.
It is noteworthy that unmapped are those whose presence was recorded but not linked to the old record, whereas in ASD are those who are not found at address, moved, dead or duplicate. ASD names will be removed, but can be challenged from Form 6 or 7.
After 31st December, claims and objections can be lodged till 30th January. Voters should contact BLO or use the voters.eci.gov.in portal. The final list will be released on 28 February 2026. The election officer appealed, "All voters should check their status and keep the necessary documents ready." This process is to make the voter list clean, so that the elections are fair.
