Strong attack on crime and drugs in Patna city

Jagran correspondent, Patna. By taking major action against the crime and drug network in Patna City, the police has made it clear that now no relaxation will be given. This operation, which ran from Alamganj police station area to Mahatma Gandhi Bridge, resulted in the arrest of armed criminals and recovery of a huge quantity of ganja, which created a stir in the entire criminal network. Due to this action taken on the basis of secret information, many possible incidents were foiled in time.

Armed gang busted in Alamganj area

The joint team of Alamganj police station and STF had received information that some criminals were preparing to carry out some major incident. As soon as the information was received, the team took immediate action and raided the area and arrested four criminals from the spot. This action has dealt a big blow to the criminal gangs operating in the area and the police is now busy connecting the links of their network.

Weapons and vehicles recovered in the raid

On the basis of the information of the arrested criminals, the police searched their premises, from where two pistols, a country-made pistol and nine live cartridges were recovered. Along with this, four mobile phones, a car and a motorcycle were also seized, which made it clear that these criminals were preparing for some organized crime. Police say that a major incident was averted due to timely action.

Drug trade hit on Mahatma Gandhi Bridge

Meanwhile, Alamganj police station, with the help of the intelligence unit, stopped a 16-wheeler truck on Mahatma Gandhi Bridge for investigation. During the search, 456 kg of ganja kept in 38 packets was recovered from the truck, which was planned to be brought from another state and consumed in Patna and surrounding districts. After this major recovery, there has been a stir in the network of drug smugglers and a thorough investigation of the supply chain has been started.

One more accused arrested in separate action

In a separate action in Bhadra Ghat area, police arrested Ranjan Ram alias Ranjan Dom, from whom a loaded country-made pistol, a live bullet and a shell were recovered. The accused is said to be a resident of Gaighat Kali place and by interrogating him, information about his criminal contacts is being collected.

Police strictness increased before festivals

Police officials say that keeping in mind the upcoming festivals, surveillance has been increased across the city and joint operations are being conducted continuously. With the aim of rooting out crime and drug trade, the police is now preparing to take more strict action, so that law and order remains completely strong in Patna City.
