Chetna Rathore, Noida. Two underpasses are to be constructed on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. To build it, Noida Authority has taken permission from the Forest Department to cut 330 trees. However, the department has given conditional permission to the authority to plant ten times the trees in place of the trees to be cut.
Of the 330 trees, the authority will transplant 265 trees and uproot 65. Keeping the trees to be transplanted in the category of damaged, the Forest Department has asked to plant saplings. 265 trees will be transplanted and planted in the green belt. These trees will be kept under special care.
The department said that in the process of transplanting trees, the life span is not longer. Some trees survive and some die hence are kept in damaged category. The age of trees to be cut is 0 to 1, 4 to 6 and more trees are six to six years old.
Let us tell you that after cutting these trees, the construction work of the underpass will be started after clearing the place. In this, one underpass is being built in Jhatta village (near Sector 146/145), will connect Sectors 145, 146, 155, 159 and the second underpass is being built between Sector 146/147 to connect Greater Noida Link Road with the expressway. This will provide relief to many sectors and villages from traffic jams. Also, connectivity will improve, both are being constructed with diaphragm technology.
The expressway will be built between Sector-145, 146, 155 and 159 on 16.900 km chainage. Its length will be 800 meters. About Rs 99.74 crore will be spent in its construction. This will benefit the newly developed industrial sectors-151, 153, 154, 155, 156, 157, 158, 159, 162 and 9 villages.
It will be built on 6.10 km chainage on the expressway near Sultanpur between Sector-128, 129, 132 and 108. Its length will be 731 meters. A total of Rs 81.61 crore will be spent in its construction. Sector-104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 110, 80, 81, 82, 83, 127, 128, 129, 130, 131, 132, 133, 134, 135, Phase-2, NSEZ and 11 villages will benefit from this underpass.

The trees cut in the green belt of Sector-146 are being shifted. 80 trees have been shifted, while pits have been made for 100 more trees. This work will be completed soon.
