Deepa Sharma, Ghaziabad. AAPAR (Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry) ID, which is a digital identity of students, keeps all the academic records of students (like marks, awards, achievements) in one place. It is integrated with DigiLocker along with being linked to Aadhaar. It is mandatory for all schools to generate Aapar ID for all students.
Apar ID was launched in September 2024, but till December 2025, about 4.5 lakh students in Ghaziabad, Hapur, Noida are deprived of Apar ID. There are a large number of schools in all three districts which are negligent in generating immense IDs. Due to which students may face major career related problems in the future.
Apar ID has now been made mandatory for many entrance exams and to avail benefits of other government schemes. It is believed that in the coming time, Apar ID will be mandatory for all government services. This is part of the ''One Nation, One Student ID'' initiative under the National Education Policy 2020. There are a large number of schools in Ghaziabad, Hapur and Noida which have not generated Aapar ID of students.
However, government schools are in a good position in generating immense IDs. The work has been completed in almost 90 percent of the schools, but private schools are being negligent in uploading the data and generating IDs. Notices are being issued continuously by the Education Department to generate unlimited ID of students. Which does not seem to have any significant impact on schools.
Data of about 95 percent students studying in government schools in Hapur is being uploaded. There are five percent children left whose data is not matching. Due to which their Apar ID cannot be generated. Notice has also been issued to 450 schools in Noida that did not generate Apar ID.
This is how Aaphar ID is generated
To generate Apar ID, data has to be uploaded on the U DISE portal. The data of Aadhaar card and other details of the student is uploaded on the U DISE portal. After completing the student's profile on the portal, the student's PAN number is issued. After the PAN number is issued, a link is available to generate Apar ID. Aapdar ID of the student is generated after the consent of the parents.
Meeting was held with schools, notices were issued
Departmental officials of the Basic Education Department, Ghaziabad say that continuous emphasis is being given to the schools to generate unlimited IDs. A meeting was held by BSA with representatives of schools with highest pendency. In which their problems were heard and resolved. After this, a week's time was given to complete the work, despite this the work was not done by the schools. After this, notices have been issued by the Block Education Officers to all the schools in their respective areas.
where is the problem coming from
The situation of uploading data in government schools is good in all three districts, but the work of uploading data and generating ID has not been done by most of the private schools. The biggest problem in this is the negligence of the schools. There is no visible impact of the education department holding meetings and issuing notices on the schools.
Due to data mismatch of some students, their ID is not being generated. It contains the spelling of name and parents' names etc. Not having Aadhar card and duplication (enrollment status in two schools) is also a big problem. Apart from this, the problem of parents not giving consent is also coming to the fore in private schools.
Notice has been issued to schools not generating Apar ID. By holding meetings with schools, their problems are being heard and by solving them, they are being directed to generate IDs. It is mandatory for all schools to generate AAPAR ID, otherwise strict action will be taken as per rules.
