State Bureau, Patna. The Health Department has taken a big step towards promoting traditional medical systems in the state. The department has completed preparations to open AYUSH hospitals in seven districts of the state, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Begusarai, Gayaji, Siwan, Gopalganj and Motihari.
State-of-the-art AYUSH hospitals with 50 beds will be built in these districts. The Health Department has prepared its detailed action plan and the construction process is likely to start soon.
Construction will be done at a cost of Rs 15 crore:
According to the Health Department, around Rs 15 crore will be spent on the construction of each AYUSH hospital. In these hospitals, treatment facilities will be provided through methods like Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy. With this, patients in both rural and urban areas will be able to get accessible and affordable treatment.
Hospitals will be equipped with modern facilities:
OPD, IPD, dispensary, Panchakarma unit, yoga and meditation centre, examination room and necessary medical equipment will be arranged in the proposed AYUSH hospitals. Along with this, trained doctors, nursing staff and paramedical personnel will also be appointed so that the patients can get quality services.
Health infrastructure will be strengthened:
The Health Department believes that the opening of these hospitals will provide new strength to the health infrastructure of the state. AYUSH methods will prove to be especially effective in the treatment of lifestyle diseases, chronic diseases and mental stress. This will also reduce the increasing pressure on allopathic hospitals.
Construction process will start soon:
According to departmental officials, the process of marking land and other formalities is being completed rapidly. Hospitals will be constructed in all seven districts in a phased manner. The government aims to open these AYUSH hospitals to the public within the stipulated time, so that the people of the state can get the benefits of traditional medicine.
