6 Teams Will Try Their Best For The Title In LPL... Many Legendary Players Will Be Included, Auction Will Be Held On January 31

Jagran correspondent, Lucknow. On the lines of Indian Premier League (IPL), Lucknow Premier League will also start with a bang in the capital. The league, organized by Cricket Association Lucknow at KD Singh Babu Stadium, will start on March 7, while the final match will be played on March 17.

A total of six teams will compete for the title in LPL. For this, the stage has been set for the auction of players. A grand auction will be held on January 31 at Ansal's Centrum Hotel.

According to Dr. Navneet Sehgal, President of CAL and former Chairman of Prasar Bharati, trials for the Lucknow Premier League were organized in the city last year, in which 1260 players participated. 450 young cricketers have been selected on the basis of performance in the trials.

A total of 450 players have been divided into three groups A, B and C for the auction. The base price of players of A group has been fixed at Rs 40 thousand, that of B at Rs 25 thousand and that of C at Rs 15 thousand. Any player will get a maximum of Rs 1.25 lakh in the auction. All preparations regarding this have been completed. The auction program will take place from around 1 pm. He said that after the success of the first year, increasing the number of teams in the second season can also be considered. Veteran cricketers will also show their strength

According to the President of CAL, no stone will be left unturned to make the league grand. A total of six teams from the district will try hard to win the title for the first time. There will be 18 matches from league to final. Like IPL, day and night matches will be played.

In the tournament, many veteran cricketers from different teams will be seen hitting fours, sixes and taking wickets, especially the names of Uttar Pradesh team's Vipraj Nigam, Zeeshan Ansari, Naman Tiwari, Akshdeep Nath, Upendra Yadav and Ansh Yadav. He told that the veteran cricketer of UP team, Karan Sharma, who made Kashi Rudrash the champion this time, will also be a part of some team in the league. LPL will provide a big platform.

According to Dr. Navneet Sehgal, teams of Lucknow Nawabs, Lucknow Aces, Lucknow Victorious, Lucknow Challengers, Lucknow Strikers and Lucknow Lions will participate in the league in the first season. Representatives of six corporate houses will be present for the auction.

The purse for a franchise bidding in the auction will be Rs 8.50 lakh. A team will consist of 15 players. He said, LPL will prove helpful in providing a big platform to budding cricketers.

After IPL, UP T-20 League is the biggest example. Vipraj Nigam, Karan Sharma, Naman Tiwari and Zeeshan Ansari got a place in the state team on the basis of their performance in the UP League. Similarly, the cricketers from the district who are not getting a place in the state teams can get selection in the UP T20 League and state teams through their performance in the Lucknow Premier League.
