Demand for return of Indian women stranded in Oman to their homeland

These women were sent abroad by fake travel agents with the promise of better jobs, but they were exploited there.

Trapped by luring a job abroad

Sant Seechewal has demanded strictest action against travel agents who trap Indian women in the name of employment in Gulf countries. He claimed that these women, belonging to many states of the country including Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, were taken to Oman on the basis of false promises of better employment. After reaching Oman, these women faced severe mental and physical abuse.

They were lured by travel agents with a salary of ₹ 20,000 to ₹ 50,000 per month, but as soon as they reached Muscat, inhuman treatment started.

'Many women suffer from serious diseases'

Sant Seechewal further wrote that many women stranded in Oman are suffering from serious illnesses. Many of these women do not even have the means to meet their daily needs. She has been waiting to return to India for many years, but her plight is being ignored. He has demanded immediate intervention of the Government of India and appealed to ensure the early return of the victimized women to their homeland.

Along with this, he also demanded that strict legal action should be taken against the travel agents and human trafficking networks that send women abroad by showing them false dreams, so that in future no Indian daughters have to become victims of this type of exploitation.

Demand for money to return to India

In fact, Rani Shakti Singh, who had returned to India from Oman, had personally met the victim women in Muscat. After coming to India, he contacted Rajya Sabha MP Sant Seechewal and informed about the painful condition of these women.

According to Rani Shakti Singh, at present all the women are living in the shelter of the Indian Embassy, ​​but the sad thing is that huge amount of money is being demanded from them for their return to India.
