Gandhi Maidan echoed with national anthem and patriotic slogans
Digital Desk, Patna. Today the country is celebrating the 77th Republic Day with full enthusiasm and constitutional dignity. The main function of Republic Day was organized at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna, the capital of Bihar, where Governor Mohd. Arif Khan hoisted the national flag. Along with saluting the tricolor, Gandhi Maidan echoed with the national anthem and patriotic slogans.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha, cabinet members, MPs, MLAs, senior administrative officers and a large number of common citizens were present. After the flag hoisting, a grand parade of 21 contingents was taken out in which police, home guards and other forces demonstrated discipline and dedication.
The tableaux of 12 departments of the state government became the special identity of the Republic Day celebrations, in which glimpses of development schemes, women empowerment, education, health and social reforms were shown. The tableaux effectively presented the development journey and cultural diversity of Bihar.
The district administration remained fully alert regarding security arrangements. Gandhi Maidan and surrounding areas were divided into four sectors. Around 136 magistrates and police officers were deployed, while Mahila Bal, Lathi Bal and additional police forces were also specially deployed. The entire area was monitored with 128 CCTV cameras.
Along with Gandhi Maidan, the tricolor was hoisted in the centers of power also. Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar hoisted the flag in the Bihar Assembly complex, while Legislative Council Chairman Awadhesh Narayan Singh hoisted the national flag and wished Republic Day.
Flag hoisting and cultural programs were organized at government offices, educational institutions and public places across the state. The 77th Republic Day once again strengthened the commitment to democracy, the Constitution and national unity.
