Threat to bomb Patna Civil Court again

Jagran correspondent, Patna. Patna Civil Court once again received a bomb threat on Thursday, raising serious questions on the judicial system and security system. This threat has been given through email and as soon as the information was received, the police and bomb disposal squad became active. As a precautionary measure, intensive search of the court premises is being conducted and it has been decided to start regular work in the afternoon.

Search operation from morning, court will open in the afternoon

After receiving the threat, the police evacuated the court premises in the morning and laid siege. Town DSP Rajesh Ranjan said that every corner is being checked to avoid any mistake. Search operation is going on with the help of metal detector and dog squad. Court proceedings will start only after security clearance.

Doubt again on Pappu Yadav's appearance

The appearance of Purnia MP Pappu Yadav was scheduled today, but after the threat, there is uncertainty regarding the timing of the hearing. Even before this, his appearance had to be postponed due to threats. The hearing of high-profile cases is getting affected again and again due to such incidents. The court administration is now considering alternative security arrangements.

Three courts had received threats on Wednesday also

On Wednesday, a bomb threat was issued against Patna, Danapur and Kishanganj civil courts simultaneously. It was written in the mail that there would be five blasts at 1 o'clock. That day also the court premises were evacuated and the hearing had to be postponed. The concern of security agencies has increased after receiving threats for the second consecutive day.

Anger among lawyers, heated argument with police

There is resentment among the advocates due to continuous threats. There was also a debate between the lawyers and the police on Wednesday, in which the lawyers raised questions on the security arrangements. He says that repeatedly vacating the court is hindering the judicial process. The bar association is demanding a permanent solution to security.

Big challenge before security agencies

This is the seventh time that Patna Civil Court has received a threat, which is a serious matter in itself. Police are investigating the source of the cyber cell email. At present no suspicious object has been recovered, but vigilance has been increased. The continuous threats are pointing towards the need to strengthen the security arrangements and increase digital surveillance of the court premises.
