Jagran correspondent, Patna. A severe traffic jam situation arose on Tuesday morning under the Rajiv Nagar flyover of the capital. Due to this jam which lasted from around 8:30 am to 9:50 am, the common people as well as school going children had to face a lot of problems.

Children remained stuck in the traffic jam, due to which they had to reach their schools late. According to eyewitnesses, there was a jam situation due to vehicles entering from the opposite direction on the one-way road towards Rajiv Nagar drain. Within no time a long queue of vehicles formed and traffic was completely disrupted.

The situation became so serious that vehicles were queued up even in the narrow lanes connecting the service lane of Indrapuri to Rajiv Nagar flyover. Drivers stuck in these lanes could not find any way out.

The magnitude of the jam can be gauged from the fact that vehicles could not move for about 20 minutes. During this period, school buses, autos, bikes and private vehicles all remained stranded. There was a lot of anger among parents and drivers.

Many people expressed displeasure over the absence of traffic police and disorganized traffic system. People have demanded from the administration that one-way rules should be strictly followed and deployment of traffic police should be ensured during the morning rush hour, so that people can get relief from such problems in future.
