8th Pay Commission Update: A big update has come out regarding the Eighth Pay Commission, which has intensified the stir among the central employees. Now, about 86 days after the formation of the Commission, the Eighth Pay Commission has got the office (8th CPC office allocation) in Delhi, and with this the pace of work has also started picking up.
The commission team will sit at this address
The Government has allotted office space for the 8th Central Pay Commission at Chandralok Building, Janpath, New Delhi. As soon as the Commission's office becomes fully functional, work will start on important issues related to central employees. In this series, the National Council (JCM) staff side (NC-JCM drafting committee meeting) has taken the next big step.
Big meeting will be held on 25th February
NC-JCM (Staff Side) has decided to initiate the process of preparing the Common Memorandum for the 8th Pay Commission. For this, an important meeting of the drafting committee has been called on 25 February 2026 at 10:30 am. This meeting will be held at 13-C, Ferozshah Road, New Delhi.

There will be talk on salary-pension, promotion
The special thing is that the members of the drafting committee will have to stay in Delhi for a week from 25th February, so that the proposals can be finalized by discussing in detail the issues like salary, allowances, promotion, pension and service conditions (8th CPC salary pension revision). That means there will be brainstorming not just in the meeting, but throughout the week.
What did NC-JCM say in the letter?
It is clearly stated in the letter that as soon as the office of 8th CPC starts functioning completely, a memorandum can be submitted on behalf of the employees. This is the reason why preparations have been intensified from now on. This entire development is being considered as a solid and decisive beginning in the direction of the 8th Pay Commission.
Overall, the meeting of Office Allocation and Drafting Committee clearly indicates that the process of 8th Pay Commission has now moved from paper to ground and in the coming days, the script of major decisions related to central employees will be written from here.
