91 'killer Cuts' On The Roads Of Bareilly: From NH-30 To Badaun Road, See Where The Dividers Are Broken.

Jagran correspondent, Bareilly. People have made illegal cuts on national and state highways to easily reach hotels, dhabas, petrol pumps, shops, colleges, villages and other places. At some places vehicles are being taken out by breaking railings and at other places by uprooting dividers and making cuts. In such a situation, there is a risk of accident due to vehicles passing at high speed on the highway. Police have so far identified 91 illegal cuts in the district under the Zero Fatality District scheme.

To close these cuts, letters have been written to National Highway Authority of India, UP State Highway Authority, PWD and other concerned departments. In the last three months till January, the police had identified 43 illegal cuts on national and state highways in the district. Among these, the highest number of illegal cuts were found on National Highway 21 i.e. 23 from Lal Phatak to Amla on Badaun Road.

After this, illegal cuts were found on National Highway 30 i.e. 12 from Nawabganj to Fatehganj East. The lowest number of illegal cuts were marked at five on National Highway 530 i.e. Rampur Highway and three on State Highway i.e. Nainital Road. Police are continuously marking illegal cuts in different police station areas and now their number has reached 91.

Police found at the marked cuts that an illegal cut had been made by breaking the railing at Kumrah on National Highway 30. In Rithora, people come out due to the grill installed in the middle of the road divider being cut. An illegal cut has been made on National Highway 530 in Fatehganj West by breaking the divider before Baigul River. A cut divider has also been made near ANA College by breaking it.

Similarly, illegal cuts have been made at different places. There is always a risk of accidents on these. SP Traffic Mohammad Akmal Khan said that police from police stations on the highways in the district are continuously marking illegal cuts. So far 91 illegal cuts have been identified. A letter has been written to the concerned departments to stop illegal cuts so that accidents can be prevented.

43 illegal cuts marked three months ago

Lalpur and Aspur in Izzatnagar police station area on National Highway 30, Kumrah, near Talab restaurant in Bithri Chainpur police station area, Rithora in Hafizganj, Richhaula Kifayatullah in Nawabganj, Zed, village Andhapur, Sakarka, Maggi Nagla, Navadiya Ashok, Tisua, Rampura Kaman Mod, near Kalicharan's house in Bhamora police station area on National Highway 21. There are illegal cuts in front.

Apart from this, there are illegal cuts near Indian Petrol Pump, Banbari Lal Shop, Bank of Baroda, Mohan Memorial Inter College, Ansari Dharam Kanta Bhamora, Ambedkar Park, Sanjeev General Store, Tube Well Section Department, HP Petrol Pump in Kheda, Jalaluddin Oil Petrol Pump, Bakri Bazaar, Indian Oil Petrol Pump in Bholapur, Makarandpur Dharajit, Alampur Jafrabad, Kohni Pratappur.

Also, Lal Gate in front of Life Word Enterprises in Cantt police station area, Parshuram Dham Temple, Vishwas Diagnostic Centre, Maharana Pratap Memorial, Fatehganj on National Highway 530 before Baigul river in Western police station area, ANA Cut, Bohit Cut in CBganj, Bibiyapur Chaudhary and Karmapur Thakuran, Atka Kayasthan from Bibiyapur side, Mohammad in Baheri police station area on State Highway 37. There are illegal cuts in intersection, Bichpuri cut in Devraniya police station area and in front of Naira petrol pump.

13 cuts from Lal Phatak to Ramganga Tiraha

In a distance of four kilometers from Lal Fatak flyover to Ramganga Tiraha on National Highway 21, the police have marked Lal Fatak, Parshuram Dham Temple, Vishwas Diagnostic Centre, Maharana Pratap Memorial in front of four illegal Cut Life Word Enterprises in the Cantt police station area. When Dainik Jagran's team saw the situation here on Friday, it found 13 cuts in four kilometers.

At many of these places, cuts have been made unnecessary during road construction. Dividers have been broken at many places. Apart from this, dividers have not been made where required, hence there remains a risk of accident. Firstly, an illegal cut has been made as soon as the flyover descends. The divider has been broken here.

Another cut has been made at some distance from here. After this, after closing the cut at one place and removing the cement boulders, the vehicles are moving out. An illegal cut has been made even before Bukhara turn. There is no divider near Parshuram Dham and people from Rameshwaram Dham Colony also come here, hence there is a fear of an accident.

Beyond this, there is also a cut near the turn of Radhaswami Satsang Beas Ashram. There are two cuts near Chaubari. Neither any intersection has been built nor any indicators have been installed near Bukhara turn.

Bike rider injured in collision with auto on cut

A speeding auto hit the bike near the cut before Bukhara turn on Friday afternoon at quarter to four. Devendra, a resident of Kargaina who was riding the bike, got injured. Devendra was coming from Cantt area with one of his friends. He was turning on the cut when the auto hit him. After the collision, the auto driver fled from the spot. Devendra suffered serious back injuries due to the collision.
