Jagran correspondent, Pithoragarh. A car fell into a ditch late on Friday night in the Rin-Bichul area on the Pithoragarh land road under the police station area of the district. According to the information received, an Alto vehicle went out of control and fell into a ditch about 200 meters deep. As soon as information about the accident was received, police force from the police station was dispatched to the spot.
Patwari of the concerned area said that a person injured in the accident was rescued with the help of local villagers and sent to the hospital through 108 ambulance. The injured person was in an unconscious state. He has been identified as Sanju s/o Narottam Prasad, resident GIC Pithoragarh.
According to information received from relatives, Sanju's father had undergone an operation a day before. Sanju had gone from Pithoragarh towards the ground along with three other people. It was told that one person had got down at Devalthal itself, while the remaining three people were returning. The vehicle became unbalanced and fell into a ditch near Rin-Bichul School. The vehicle was completely shattered. According to Thal police station chief Prakash Pandey, the time of the accident is said to be around 11:30 pm.
Rural Development Chand Lakhan Chand, Aryan Chand, Sagar Chand, Sarthak Chand, Manoj Chand etc. showed promptness by getting into the ditch and taking the injured Sanju to the main road. After which he was admitted to District Hospital Pithoragarh in the night itself. Dr. Ashu Awasthi, the doctor posted in the district hospital, said that the injured has suffered injuries in many parts of the body including waist, legs, ears, although his condition is said to be stable at present.

Relatives told that along with Sanju, two other people were also traveling in the vehicle, whose trace has not been found yet. The search operation is going on by the police and administration to find the missing persons. At present, the police is busy investigating the cause of the accident and is keeping an eye on the entire matter. According to relatives, it is not known why these people had gone there.
