Jagran correspondent, Agra. The police crossed all limits to recover the dues of the finance company. The JCB owner was picked up from home and kept in illegal custody in the police station for 12 hours. He was released after collecting Rs 25,000 through the agent.

The victim met DCP City on Thursday and complained. After this the DCP put the accused constable on the line. The investigation of the case has been handed over to ACP Lohamandi.

Raees Khan, a resident of Shahganj, had bought a JCB a few years ago. Finance was taken on this. The victim alleges that some finance installments were outstanding against him. The employees of the finance company were harassing him regarding this.

On February 2, the victim had complained to the police about misbehavior and threats by the employees of the finance company. The police did not take any action against him.

It is alleged that on the afternoon of February 7, constable Sunny of Shahganj police station reached his house along with a sub-inspector and took him to the police station. He was detained here for 12 hours without any complaint.

At 11:30 pm, the constable left after taking a bribe of Rs 25,000 online with the help of a third person. The victim complained about the matter to DCP City Syed Ali Abbas on Thursday. Investigation found that the youth was detained without any policeman.

On this he has put the accused constable Sunny on the line. DCP City said that the victim had accused the constable himself. The constable has been sent to the line with immediate effect. Preliminary investigation into the matter has been started.

If any policeman is found guilty in the investigation, action will be taken against them including the constable.

How was he kept in illegal custody without the consent of the inspector?

Shahganj police station is in the dock in the case of extortion by keeping a JCB operator in illegal custody. DCP City Syed Ali Abbas took action against the constable in this case. But no action was taken against the inspector or the beat inspector.

The question that arises is how did the inspector not know that a person was kept in the police station lockup for 12 hours? Had the constable picked up the JCB operator without the inspector's consent?
