State Bureau, Lucknow. The progress of construction of new state universities being built in Balrampur, Mirzapur and Moradabad along with the Police Non-Composite Commissionerate in Ghaziabad and the proposed composite Commissionerate buildings in Agra, Varanasi and Lucknow is slow.

Showing a strict stance on this, Chief Secretary SP Goyal clearly said that if the work is not completed as per the milestone, strict action will be taken against the concerned executing agencies.

After reviewing all these projects in the meeting of the Project Monitoring Group, it was found that the work of the three state universities (whose cost is more than Rs 50 crore) being built in EPC mode by the Public Works Department under the Higher Education Department is not progressing as per the target.

Expressing his displeasure on this, he directed that the new timetable (milestone) of work should be revised immediately. Laborers and staff should be increased as per need. The construction work should be continuously monitored.

The work should be completed on time, keeping in mind the quality and set standards. Along with this, information related to standardization of drawing, design and cost of Police Commissionerate and Composite Commissionerate buildings was also presented in the meeting.

It was told that the Technical Cell has sent a proposal in this regard to the Home Department on December 15 and further process is going on in the Home Department and Public Works Department. The Chief Secretary directed that all the formalities at the government level should be completed expeditiously, so that the construction work of these buildings can start as soon as possible.
