Jagran correspondent, Rae Bareli. Magh Mela will run from January 3 to February 15. Magh Mela will start from the first week of next month. In view of the possible crowd of devotees going to Prayagraj, additional lighting arrangements will be made at all the railway stations falling on the Lucknow-Prayagraj railway line.
Preparations for this have started from Wednesday. Keeping in mind the convenience of passengers, the Electricity Department of Railways has planned to increase lighting at all the stations.
Along with Rae Bareli railway station, additional lights will be installed at Shrirajnagar, Bachhrawan, Kundanganj, Harchandpur-Gangaganj, Rupamau, Daryapur, Laxmanpur, Unchahar and Arkha stations. Apart from this, special arrangements for lighting are also being made at Jalalpur Dhai, Dalmau, Lalganj and Raghuraj Singh railway stations situated on the Unchahar to Kanpur railway line.
As part of the preparations, new lights are being installed wherever needed, while old and damaged lights are also being repaired. Old wires are being replaced and new tube lights are being installed at many places, so that the station premises, platforms, circulating areas and entry-exit routes remain fully illuminated.

SM Meena, Senior Section Engineer, Railway Electricity Department, says that during Magh Mela, trains operate till late night and there is more movement of passengers, hence adequate lighting is very important.
He said that the teams of the Electricity Department are continuously working at different stations. All preparations should be completed before Magh Mela. Keeping the bathing festival in mind, additional arrangements are being made so that the passengers do not face any kind of problem.
