Jagran correspondent, Sonipat. Haryana Urban Development Authority (HSVP) took strict action against illegal encroachment in Bihari Market located in Sector-15 and used a bulldozer. Illegal ramps and sheds built in front of Housing Board houses were demolished and removed. Due to encroachment that has been going on for a long time, there was a lot of problem in the movement of vehicles in this area, regarding which the local people were continuously complaining.

The authority team along with the police force reached Bihari Market located in Sector-15 in the morning. The action was conducted peacefully in the presence of Duty Magistrate and Municipal Corporation SDO Devendra Khasa and police officers.

Officials said that some people had encroached on government land by building permanent and temporary ramps and sheds in front of the Housing Board houses. Due to this, not only the road became narrow, but there was often a traffic jam in the market area. Especially two-wheelers and four-wheelers had to face a lot of difficulties in passing.

Authority officials clarified that notices had already been issued to 15 people involved in illegal encroachment. Forced action was taken when the encroachment was not removed even after the notice period expired. During the action, the road was made encroachment free by completely removing illegal structures.

Traffic police removed encroachment from the roads

The traffic police has once again taken action against encroachments that continue to hinder traffic. This is the second action of the traffic police within four days. The traffic police, along with the Municipal Corporation team, removed encroachment from the bus stand, Mama-Bhanja Chowk, dirty drain, Delhi Road. On many roads of the city, people set up street vendors illegally, kept goods outside the shops, built huts and temporary structures at many places and even made illegal parking on the roadside.

To remove the encroachment, the traffic police team took to the streets under the leadership of in-charge Deshraj. The team got the goods removed at many places. Taught traffic rules by challaning drivers coming from the wrong side. Shopkeepers were instructed that if encroachment is committed again, they may have to face legal action.

There is an appeal to the shopkeepers neither to encroach themselves nor to get encroachments done in front of the shops. This campaign will continue continuously. If anyone does this, strict action will be taken against him. - Deshraj, in-charge, city traffic
