Jagran correspondent, Hardoi. Many important proposals were approved in the board meeting of Municipal Council Pihani towards solving the basic problems of the city.
In the meeting, proposals like improving the drainage system by constructing drains, construction of dilapidated roads, improving drinking water system and beautification of Narasimha Vahini Devi temple were passed. The passing of the proposals has raised hopes of providing relief to the city residents.
In the meeting chaired by Municipality President Shaheen Begum, Executive Officer Amit Singh presented various development proposals including construction of drain before the councillors.
The board approved proposals like construction of drains for drainage, strengthening of drinking water system, construction of dilapidated roads, beautification of Narasimha Vahini Devi temple under Vandan Yojana, sewerage and drainage works and extending the contract of outsourcing workers working in the municipality till March 2026.
Some councilors also raised the issue of shortcomings and neglect in development works. Councilor Aalim Qureshi expressed displeasure over the poor condition of the roads after laying the pipeline by the Jal Nigam and said that the repair work has become a mere formality.
He accused his ward of being neglected in development works. Councilor Renu Gupta presented a total of 11 proposals to the board including improving the door-to-door garbage collection system and pipeline leakage.
Councilor Lala Qureshi proposed to increase the number of bonfires in the city in view of the severe cold. Councilors Shanu Singh, Abid Raza, Man Singh, Iqrar Khan, Suman Mishra, Chand Mian, Matre and other councilors were present in the meeting.
