Shifting Date Fixed In PMCH, Pediatric And Gynecological Departments Will Move To The New Building On 21st And 28th February

Jagran correspondent, Patna. In view of the problems being faced in shifting the pediatric department, gynecological department and eye department to the newly constructed building of Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH), senior officials of the health department visited the hospital on Saturday.

Under the leadership of Health Department Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh, officials of the Health Department, BMSCIL and construction agency L&T discussed these issues in detail. In this meeting, the date of shifting of Infant Department and Gynecology Department was fixed on 21st and 28th February.

Plan to meet the shortage of resources

Before shifting, a plan was made to fulfill the shortage of necessary resources in these departments. 55 beds have been earmarked for Neeku and Piku of the pediatric department, 66 for general infant patients and 30 beds for Thalassemia, NRC and general infant patients.

Besides, 90 general beds, two state-of-the-art operation theatres, one post-operative and recovery room along with 10 ICUs have also been allocated for the gynecology department. After the shift of these two departments, the eye department will be shifted.

Manpower from BMSCIL for CT Scan and MRI

Commissioning of two CT Scan and one MRI machines located in the Radiology Department of PMCH was also discussed. It was told that correspondence has been made with Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC) for CT scan and preparations are being made to start MRI. For this, trained personnel will be made available through BMSCIL. With this step, free CT scan and MRI facilities will be available to the patients.

Meeting with department heads, necessary equipment will be allocated

After the meeting with the Health Secretary, PMCH Superintendent Dr. Rajeev Kumar Singh held a meeting with the heads of departments. In this meeting, information was taken from all the department heads about the equipment and items required in OPD, OT, Minor OT etc. in their departments. All the department heads expressed their requirements.

It was decided in the meeting that the list of these needs would be sent to the Health Department, from where these equipment and materials would be supplied through BMSCIL.
